What is Torvus?

Torvus is a comprehensive security platform for managing digital vaults, designating recipients, and configuring secure document releases. Whether you're planning for digital legacy, managing sensitive documents, or coordinating secure information handover, Torvus provides the tools you need.

Quick Start

1. Create Your Account

  1. Visit platform.torvussecurity.com
  2. Click Sign Up and enter your email address
  3. Verify your email through the magic link or OTP code
  4. Set up your security preferences (optional: add passkey or TOTP)

2. Create Your First Vault

  1. Navigate to Vaults in the main menu
  2. Click Create New Vault
  3. Enter a name and description for your vault
  4. Upload your first document
  5. Configure document metadata and tags (optional)

3. Add Recipients

  1. Navigate to Recipients in the main menu
  2. Click Add Recipient
  3. Enter recipient details:
    • Name
    • Email address
    • Relationship (e.g., spouse, attorney, family member)
  4. Set recipient permissions and access level

4. Configure Release Policies

  1. Open your vault
  2. Navigate to the Release tab
  3. Configure release conditions:
    • Time-based: Release on a specific date
    • Event-based: Release on specific trigger events
    • Manual: Require manual approval for release
  4. Assign recipients to the release policy
  5. Review and activate the policy

Core Concepts

Vaults

Vaults are secure containers for your sensitive documents and information. Each vault can contain:

  • Documents (PDF, images, text files)
  • Metadata and tags for organization
  • Release policies and conditions
  • Audit logs of all access and changes

Recipients

Recipients are trusted individuals designated to receive vault contents when release conditions are met. Recipients can be:

  • Family members for digital legacy planning
  • Attorneys for legal document distribution
  • Business partners for succession planning
  • Trusted contacts for emergency access

Release Policies

Release policies define when and how vault contents are delivered to recipients. Policies can include:

  • Time-based triggers: Specific dates or time periods
  • Event-based triggers: Death verification, incapacitation, or other events
  • Multi-factor conditions: Combine multiple triggers for added security
  • Manual approval: Require explicit authorization before release

Provenance Receipts

Every action in Torvus generates a cryptographically signed provenance receipt, providing:

  • Immutable proof of document creation and modifications
  • Timestamp verification
  • Actor identification
  • Chain of custody documentation

Security Features

Authentication

Torvus supports multiple authentication methods:

  • Magic Links: Passwordless email authentication
  • Passkeys (WebAuthn): Biometric authentication with security keys
