Common First-Time Questions
"How often should I check in?"
Answer: Monthly is most common and sustainable. Weekly or biweekly for high-security needs. Daily only for specific high-risk situations.
"What if I forget to check in?"
Answer: You have a grace period (24-72 hours depending on plan) after missed check-in. During grace period, you'll receive urgent reminders. Complete check-in anytime during grace period to cancel release.
"Should I tell recipients I added them?"
Answer: Yes! Recipients should know:
- You've added them to your vault
- What the vault contains
- When they'll receive access (your policies)
- What to do when notified
"What documents should I upload?"
Answer: Upload truly important documents:
- Legal (will, power of attorney, deed)
- Financial (insurance, account info, tax returns)
- Identity (passport, birth certificate)
- Digital assets (cryptocurrency keys, important passwords)
Don't use as general cloud storage.
"How many recipients should I have?"
Answer: Minimum 2-3 recipients recommended:
- Primary (spouse/partner)
- Secondary (child/sibling)
- Tertiary (attorney/advisor)
Multiple recipients provide redundancy if primary unavailable.
"Can I change settings later?"
Answer: Yes! All settings can be changed:
- Vault name and description
- Recipients (add, remove, change permissions)
- Policies (frequency, grace period, recipients)
- Notification preferences
